The TWA Hotel approached me to create a LEGO representation of one of the world’s most recognizable airport landmarks—one that could be displayed prominently in their iconic lounge, along with a smaller version designed as a gift for executive hotel guests.
The project resulted in two custom LEGO models: a compact 150-piece version and a highly detailed display model containing more than 2,000 pieces.
Both models capture the defining architectural features of the TWA Flight Center, including its distinctive winged roof structure and the sweeping continuation of the original terminals on either side. Translating such a complex and iconic building into LEGO—particularly at two dramatically different scales—required meticulous attention to proportion, structure, and detail.
The result was a pair of models that allowed guests to take home a piece of the TWA Hotel while giving the hotel itself a striking LEGO interpretation of its architectural legacy
