For a LEGO building competition, participants were challenged to recreate an iconic piece of architecture. I knew immediately that I wanted to take on Biltmore Estate—the largest privately owned house in the United States and one of America’s most recognizable estates.
I recreated the entire estate and its surrounding grounds, although the competition focused primarily on the mansion itself. With its remarkable Gilded Age architecture, distinctive Gothic details, and more than 20 chimneys, Biltmore presented an incredible challenge to recreate in LEGO while preserving the character and beauty of the original building.
The model went on to win the LEGO competition, earning the opportunity to be displayed at LEGO House in Billund, Denmark, for two years, followed by a year-long exhibition at LEGOLAND Billund.
Having a creation selected by LEGO and publicly displayed at the heart of the LEGO world was an incredible honor and remains one of the proudest moments of my LEGO journey.
