The World Trade Organization (WTO) was preparing for an event focused on promoting sustainable fishing practices and commissioned a custom LEGO model of a bluefin tuna to showcase the importance of this initiative.
Using photographic references and a detailed study of the fish’s anatomy, I designed and built a two-foot-long LEGO bluefin tuna, carefully recreating its distinctive shape, proportions, and recognizable features.
Creating a large-scale animal entirely from LEGO presented a unique set of challenges. One of the most demanding aspects was capturing the smooth, organic forms of the tuna using rigid LEGO elements while maintaining its natural appearance and realistic proportions.
Every detail was carefully considered to bring this impressive marine creature to life in LEGO form.
Following the event, the completed model became part of the World Trade Organization’s headquarters, where it continues to serve as a distinctive representation of the organization’s focus on sustainable fishing.
This project was a wonderful opportunity to combine creative LEGO craftsmanship with an important global message about responsible fishing practices and the future of our oceans.
